While the military, healthcare and tourism industries are the largest economic drivers for the city, companies such as Valero Energy, USAA, Tesoro Energy, NuStar, iHeart Media, H-E-B and SWBC all base their corporate headquarters in San Antonio. In addition, the Eagle Ford Shale has provided a stimulus to the San Antonio economy providing more than $87 billion in economic output for Texas in 2013.
Sustainability projections for 2023 indicate that this economic impact could be upwards of $137 billion and create close to 200,000 jobs. Additionally, with over 155,000 jobs created and more than 1.5 million barrels of crude oil and other liquids produced daily, the necessity for core real estate developments is essential for San Antonio and the surrounding communities. San Antonio continues to experience a revitalization of the downtown and urban core area as more high-quality jobs come to the city.
