Darren Casey

Darren Casey, CEO and Founder of Casey Development, Ltd., began his real estate career over thirty years ago and has since become one of the most successful commercial real estate developers in the South Texas region.

In 1992, Mr. Casey founded Casey Development and Baxter Southwest Corporate Realty Services. Since that time, he has developed over 4,000,000 square feet of office, retail, industrial and multi-family residential properties in San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin, Colorado and California. In 2007, Casey Development closed one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in San Antonio history with the sale of an office and industrial portfolio totaling close to 1 million square feet.

Aside from being CEO of Casey Development and Baxter Southwest, Mr. Casey is also a co-owner of Erna-Frac Sand, L.C., a frac sand mining operation based in Mason, Texas that supplies API hydraulic fracturing sand to the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin.

One of Mr. Casey’s passions is his alma mater, Texas State University. In February 2008, Mr. Casey presented the Texas State Athletic Department with a gift of $1.3 million. In appreciation of his gift, the University announced the naming of the Darren B. Casey Athletic Administration Complex. In addition to being selected as a Texas State Distinguished Alumnus in 2009, Mr. Casey continues to be a loyal supporter of Texas State University and Bobcat Athletics.

Mr. Casey is involved in several business-related organizations, such as the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, the San Antonio Real Estate Council, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is also an active member and contributor in numerous community and civic organizations, including the Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, Texas State University McCoy School of Business Advisory Board, the Texas State University Athletic Pillar Foundation, the Texas State University President’s Council Advisory Board, and the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. An active member of the San Antonio community, Mr. Casey became a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy (San Antonio Division) in 2004 and in 2011, boxed in the Ringside SA’s main boxing event benefiting the South Texas Hispanic Fund. Among his numerous achievements, Mr. Casey was named in the San Antonio 40 & Under Business Hall of Fame and was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (1996).
